Your old friend Tom
Remember MySpace, yea that thing before Facebook took over the world. It’s heavily music slanted social media website. Founded in 2003 by Tom Anderson and Chris DeWolfe, My Space was sold in 2005 to News Corporation for €580 million, a snip compared to the prices seen for more recent social media sites like Facebook, Twitter & WhatsApp. Considering that MySpace was the most visited site in the world in 2006 having more hits than Google it popularity quickly fell once Facebook took a grip. News Corporation finally sold it to Specific Media Group and Justin Timberlake for approximately $35 million.
When you first joined MySpace you had one friend; MySpaceTom and looking back that was a lot better then Facebook’s depressing ‘You have no friends‘ message.
So what do you do when you sell you company for a small fortune? Well for co-founder Tom Andreson he took up photography and spends his time traveling the world taking pictures of things he likes & he’s quite good at it. His Instagram account is packed with quality snaps from he ventures from all around the world. Tom has challenged himself to take one good photo a day, I really like that idea as you’d always have to have a camera with you and be looking for the best and the hidden opportunities everywhere you go. No wonder his photos are good. These good shots added with his fame has led to many requests for Tom to sell prints prints of his work. So like any young multi millionaire he gives all the money to charity. His prints are available on his Smugmug page
