A great mix of modern with the past, classic paintings of London overlaid onto images from Google Street View gives a slightly out of balance view of the city. A city that is packed with history, it’s sometimes easy to forget that London was considered the centre of world power for a long time. Already London, along with most large cities, is a mix of old and new buildings and streets but these images also pull in the feeling of life at the time through the paintings that are very well matched to their surrounding Google images. Look at the people and the ground as well as the light in the paintings, a very different time for life.
